Top 3 Ways to Be Coragous

What exactly is Courage? What are the elements of courage? Who shows courage? The best way to define courage is to understand what makes courage happen. The one and only thing that makes courage happen is one of the strongest and powerful emotions. The answer is not love or compassion, but fear. Yes, Fear! It’s true! When someone is faced with a challenge that he/she is unsure about or faced with an obstacle that seems impossible, the first emotions that come forward are uncertainty, doubt, or confusion. That all equals up to fear! Then something amazing happens. The negative emotions get pushed aside and courage comes forward to save the day. The ultimate question is, how can we move fear aside and be more courageous more often. Below are 3 ways to be more courageous.

Strength in Numbers:

Doing it alone is always harder than working as a group or team. You do not have to go through life challenges locked arm and arm with your support group (although, it makes for a great visual). The support group may be just as it states, support. Surround yourself with those who celebrate you, not tolerate you. I’ll say it again... Surround yourself with those who celebrate you, not tolerate you. It is easier to be courageous if you know that in the end others who are close to you will appreciate you. Additionally, if you fail those who are close to you will benefit and appreciate your efforts.

It’s All About WE:

In most cases, times of courage affect not only you but others as well. Very often courage comes about through interactions with others and others are counting on you. Knowing that others are viewing your actions can allow you to step up your game and take your actions to a new level. Very rarely is courage and “I” occurrence. Usually courage is a “WE” event. Pull strength from the desire to help others in order to face the fear and be courageous.

Back to the Future:

Think about the experiences you have had in your life. Think about the failures you have had. Think about the successes you have had. All of those things within your past are fuel for courage. The failures you had in your life are strong life lessons that allow you to think about how to be strategic and think logically. Your failures should prevent you from doing something foolish instead of courageous. Your successes empower you to take chances and take the leap of faith. All of those things make you who you are and helps you be courageous.

Keep in mind that the fear usually doesn’t go away through the process of being courageous. Hopefully, in the end, you come out victorious. Courage is stronger than fear. It is stronger than anything because even though you might falter and stumble, courage is what picks you up again, dusts you off, and sets you on your way to make a difference and to be the best person that you can possibly be.

Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others. ~Winston Churchill

Courage is being afraid but going on anyhow. ~Dan Rather

I liked this but wish that the title was spelled correctly! Sorry, once a proofreader, always a proofreader.
