The Bulletproof Executive - Personal trial
2 Cups of Coffee, 2 Tablespoons of butter and Two tablespoons of oil everyday for breakfast (coupled with the usual egg-whites).
For anybody who knows me, such a diet is a sacrilege. Not only is adding anything to coffee blasphemy, but most colleagues joke that my chicken & rice diet will ultimately turn me into one of our fine feathered friends.
Enter Bulletproof Coffee.
Over the past year, a few colleagues have recommended Bulletproof Coffee (https://bit.ly/1ri3XMA). It is a mix of toxin-free coffee, grass-fed, unsalted, organic butter and MCT Oil. Together they sound terrible and seem to be an excuse for a few extra pounds in the summer. The intended outcome of this cocktail is two-fold: 1. Stimulate brain activity & Increase concentration through the morning. 2. Train your body to burn more fat in the earliest part of the day. I did not do this for aesthetics but rather the additional concentration.
I don't pretend to understand either the neuroscience nor physiology behind this concept, thus am entering the test on faith.
Unscientific results to date:
- My focus and concentration from early morning through 2PM is definitely much higher.
- I don't feel like snacking (almonds are normally a mainstay on my desk - grazing historically commenced around 11:00 AM.
- My weight is actually down (I don't attribute this to the butter but it is an unexpected result)
I have committed to one month of this test. It would have made sense to check my cholesterol before the start but that was more involved that the test really needed to be.
Has anybody else tried this morning concoction? It is undoubtedly a conversation starter and I'm curious if you have seen positive results. Have they been sustainable? What were the side effects?

10 年My morning routine is: Large glass of water, avocado with lemon and black coffee. It works wonders... It's got to be something about the fat & caffeine in the morning. Now I have to try this.
