Millennials Really Aren’t That Different

The media tends to treat Millennials as if they’re a new species of exotic bird that the world has never seen before. They’re passionate. They’re self-absorbed. They have high opinions of themselves.

But when you compare statistics from previous generations, Millennials really aren’t that different. Yes, they have high expectations, and, yes, they tend to have high (and somewhat delusional) levels of self-esteem, but they exhibit these traits only slightly more so than members of previous generations did at the same age.

In other words, Millenials don’t act like this because they’re Millenials; they act like this because they’re young.
