So what happens if you don’t like talking to salespeople? That’s a very interesting question we recently had posed to us.
You see for most us we have had some type of bad experience with sales people in the past that’s lead us to be apprehensive about wanting to deal with Sales People again. It could have been that they were: pushy, didn’t listen, tried to sell us something that we didn’t need, talked to much, were too expensive, didn’t deliver on what they promised, ripped us off, we didn’t trust them, they never called back etc etc.
For most of us we have all had these type of experiences. Like in any industry there are good Sales People and not so good Sales People. Assuming that all Sales people were alike would not necessarily be a fair assessment . It would be a bit like saying that I didn’t like my first girlfriend or wife and we broke up because she hurt me and because of that I’m never going to talk to girls any more because they’re all the same. Girls are important in life; as are Salespeople.
I think the question needs to be: “How do we meet and talk to the right Salesperson?”
A Good Salesperson is someone who truly and genuinely cares for another human being on all levels and wants to help them solve a problem or challenge in their life in exchange for a monetary figure which is of equal or similar value to the solution implemented and the results achieved for that individual. You see it’s a Salesperson’s absolute duty to care for their client and help them make the right buying decision that will benefit the client long after the transaction or final payment is made.
So how do you know if you are dealing with the right Salesperson? A good salesperson first and foremost will not waste your time. They will greet you with confidence and enthusiasm and put all their attention on you. They will be interested in you and opposed to be interesting. They will communicate clearly, with good eye contact and never ever cut you off when you are talking. They are attentive, have great manners, are respectful and duplicate you well as they listen. They acknowledge you and take the information you have given them and get into action for you. They are only interested in improving your situation and solving your problem immediately. They deliver on their promise, they're honest and allow you to be honest. You walk away with value that far exceeds price and your problem solved. A great salesperson will deliver above and beyond what you would have ever expected or paid for.
Until next time Happy Investing!
