3 Ways I Learnt to Maximize LinkedIn Post Viewership
Kudos! LinkedIn has got it right again. 101 of social media success is content creation and marketing, and LinkedIn has just "hired" its 277 million users to create and market on its publishing platform for free.
LinkedIn has got the attention of all its users. The new publishers are working day and night on creating and publishing new content. While users who don't have publishing access aspire to have the access. Even the Influencers are making a push by publishing articles on how to be an effective publisher. What a physiological win by LinkedIn over its users and a strategic flow to all other social media platforms.
As many others, I started to publish articles the minute I was invited and found three boomers for viewership:
#1 Know your audience:
By "insightful" I mean to know what your audience wants to read. I believe that's why some of my articles became more popular than the others. I wrote an article on "Digital Detox" and another one on "Importance of a 3rd Language in Your Career". First one was an obvious topic while the latter one had some insight. However, the first received 1000+ hits while the latter one struggled to get even 300 hits. It's not about you. It's about your audience. Figure out what they are interested in. Keep them smiling and thinking.
#2 Channel Specific:
LinkedIn as 15+ channels and each one of them has 100,000+ followers. Thus, getting tagged to one or more channels can increase your viewership dramatically. This again was validated by my "Digital Detox" article, which was tagged to the productivity channel. If you go through the channels and read the tagged articles, you may quickly release what the channels are about.
#3 Reference & Share & Interact:
Share and refer to related articles and videos in your post. This will not only enrich your content, but also increase the SEO(Search Engine Optimization) ranking. Also, don't forget the most obvious: share your article across all platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Pinterest, Reddit and with "#" hash tags. After your posting, do interact with your viewers and Follow up on their comments.
There is no end to the discussions and articles on how to get eyeballs rolling on your posts. The most interactive and helpful forum I discovered is Writing on LinkedIn. I would suggest everyone to join, learn and contribute.
The above stated are not the only ways to maximize LinkedIn post viewership there are many other ways to achieve the same goal and be successful.
