How Precious Is Your Time?

I want to share a very interesting concept with you. How you spend your time is how you spend your money. It’s said that one of man’s greatest assets is his time. Why?

Well, once you’ve spent it, you can’t get it back! One could lose just about anything and find a way to replace it but once you’ve lost your time you can’t get it back.

If you want to observe the success of any individual - be it an investor, a business owner, entertainer or sportsman - just observe how they spend their time. It will tell you everything about them and how successful they truly are. How you spend your time is how you spend your money. Think about it: do you spend your time wisely or waste it carelessly? Do you give it away freely or invest it prudently? Do you let anyone come into your day and waste your time, or is your day planned productively in a way to get the most out of each day? Do you get at the end of the day and say: ‘I ran out of time’? Do you catch yourself saying: ‘I never have enough time’?

Successful people get a great return on their time by investing it wisely - leveraging their time and achieving more in 24 hours than some others would achieve in a whole month. My experience shows me that people who value their time know what their time is worth. They spend time on activities that give them the greatest return - whether it be financially, spiritually or emotionally – whilst always making a difference to others in some positive way.

My suggestion: for a week, observe carefully how you spend your time; keep a calendar, a journal or a time sheet and you may just be pleasantly surprised by the results you get. Until next time, happy investing.
