Suarez's apology - Facebook vs. Twitter

I was curious to see the relative reach between Twitter and Facebook, particularly after that viral tweet comparing the Snickers' reach on Twitter vs. Facebook, for the Suarez update.

So, here is another Suarez update for comparison - his apology, on Twitter (2 tweets, in 2 languages) and on Facebook.

Facebook:

Twitter:

So, on Facebook, his fan base was 7,910,771 (at the time of my checking) and the 128,240 Likes + 17,201 Shares.

On Twitter, he has a fan base 3,233,745 and he gets 112,206 Retweets and 51,003 Faves.

Add to this the combined user base of Facebook Vs. Twitter and the comparison looks even more interesting! Looks to me that an unfiltered timeline still does better than one that is filtered and treats users as a social experiment!

Hi Karthik, Its an interesting comparison you've put but while the likes/RTs/Shares give only an indication of interaction; the final number reached would be a different study altogether which Snicker too does not touch upon (on the viral tweet). But yes, organic reach is pretty much dead!
