What's connection between steam-powered engine and mobile technology?

It's not a secret that mobile technology becomes everyday tool not just in our lives but also in our businesses. We can find examples from the using smartphones and tablets for posting Facebook, LinkedIn statuses or tweets on Tweeter, or even people marking their presence using Foursquare. You are maybe asking yourself: How’s that have anything to do with your job or business?

As world (at least the digital part of it :-) ) is all-connected, your thoughts, opinions, comments and picture of your life get to the all people connected with you through social network(s) and suddenly it appears that not just your close friends and families can read it, but also your boss, co-workers, partners and competition.

Why am I writing about this, possibly, well known facts? The reason is simple, in business (as in life) there is constant need to do something better, usually small things can make a difference between something being successful or not. People that know me (or google about me) are, probably, aware of the fact that I am often speaking about the importance of this small improvements, that we usually call innovation.

So, you may ask yourself, in context of this post, what is connection between mobile technology, life, business and innovation?

My opinion, and not just mine, is that mobile solutions are today’s “industry” equivalent of innovation of steam-powered locomotive and the railways are equivalent of cloud technology that allows mobile technology to take a “voyage” all over the world. The difference or innovation in this “voyage” is that we can choose if we would like to travel personally and go to the other continents or even planets, while still connected to the information, processes and tools of our business, or we can travel virtually, crossing long distance without even stepping over our doorstep!

If you would like to join a group of pioneers, experts, entrepreneurs, start-ups, educators, and policymakers that are envisioning the future of mobile technology and cloud computing, join us at 8 annual European Regional Mobility Day Conference on September 25, 2014. in Zagreb, Croatia.

P.S. Contact me if you want to be a partner of the conference and sponsor the event!
