LinkedIn recently announced that it was expanding on the "Who's Viewed Your Profile" section with a new feature that shows how your profile ranks compared to the other people in your network.
Just look to the right of "Who's Viewed Your Profile" and you will see a grey box with the text "How you rank for profile views", it's a URL and after following the link sit tight while LinkedIn crunches the numbers!
You rank in the top 1% for profile views among your connections.
So why is all of this important?
All of this is important as they are indicators as to the number of "first impressions" that you are making on a daily, weekly or 90-day period. It is fair to assume that before anyone meets with you for the first time they are going to search for you online to learn more about you. So your LinkedIn profile is almost certain to be one of the top search results, therefore the odds are good that’s one of the links they will click.
Your LinkedIn profile, unlike some of the other links they will find is fully under your control. It gives you an excellent opportunity to craft what people find out about you and your opportunity to leave a positive first impression.
Whatever your reason for having a LinkedIn profile, if someone is looking at you then there is a chance that you are being considered for a new job opportunity, being selected as a vendor or approached by a potential new customer.
On the other hand, if you are not been looked at then you are GUARANTEED that you're not being considered for anything!
