Three key ingredients make up charming places - People, pride and respect. In my travels to Merida, Mexico I found the perfect blend of all three. The Yucatan culture takes pride in their families, ancestors, and their rich history. Truly living for each day, they respect who they are, who they are with, and what they are doing. With respect for oneself, there is a respect for other people. Providing a place of safety, security and possibilities.
The unexpected romance of a city of modern conveniences, historic preservation, and unspoiled beaches has my heart fluttering. Genuine hellos, expansive hidden courtyards and afternoon pastries have forever changed my attitude towards vacationing in Mexico. This simply charming city of the Yucatan Peninsula will forever live on inside of me.
Undiscovered shoreline in the seaside village of Sisal, will fill my dreams for years to come. If only I could bottle the sensations of this magnifico place where palm trees sway in whisper breezes along miles of pristine coastline. The simple beauty of blue lagoons, pink flamingos flying above and authentic kissing chairs made me feel like a princess, It was as if all of this was created for me in that exact moment of time.
The depth of the city is visually and emotionally stimulating. This feeling is a way of life. Greeting with the cheek, couples holding hands and pure bliss beaming from every smiling face. Few places have captured my heart, Merida has captured my soul.

10 年I like, strong imagery, reading made me feel like I was out in Merida for a while there. Mexico has been on my list of places to see but it just got bumped up.
