3D Printing "The power of creation is in the people hands."

"As humans we've always starve to create, to build something that will solve a problem or meet one of our needs." It’s mind blowing to think that we can build something today that was literally impossible yesterday and 3D Printing enables us to see the world differently and re-imagine the objects around us.

What is 3D Printing?

3D printing or additive manufacturing (AM) is any of various processes of making a three-dimensional object from a 3D model or other electronic data source primarily through additive processes in which successive layers of material are laid down under computer control

3D Printing has been around for more than 25 years, but it was mainly used for engineers and by engineers for prototyping products that they would then mass produce. However, because of 3D printing's massive growth it's now becoming more accessible for consumers and businesses to use this technology. "Three-dimensional printing was recently named by Goldman Saches one of eight technologies that are going to creatively destroy how we do business" as said in this article : CREDIT SUISSE: 3D Printing Is Going To Be Way Bigger Than What The 3D Printing Companies Are Saying

The accessibility to this technology is the most exciting aspect; hardware, code language and learning resources are easily accessible to anyone. Today you can print with over 100 materials: Rubber, Plastic, Metal, Ceramic & even chocolate with the "Choc Edge Printing Snowflake using 3D chocolate printer"

The big walls of who had the privilege to create what and largely dictate how people used it are soon to be gone.

3D Printing is empowering 3D designers make one of something and test it out without caring about tooling and molding. As a designer you test the product and concentrate on making the best object needed without worrying about putting it together. You design and the printer will finish the job.

As consumers we have a vast variety of products to purchase but what is missing is customization. 3D printing allows consumers to add their personal input into those products without having to pay a high fee for costumization. We can be involved with designing for our unique needs at our convenience.

I believe that 3D Printing is the future of shopping and manufacturing because this is a different way of manufacturing that is flexible with less limits. It allows us to explore the full breadth of product design. The collaboration of product designers, engineers and manufacturers will advance the use of the technology and the vast possibilities of creation.

So what ideas do you want to bring to life with 3D Printing?

I think the keyword here is "Personalize", giving the people the option to add their touch to whatever they are printing will add a great value and will only push this industry forward, and answering your question, the moment I hear 3D-Printing hundreds of ideas come to mind.
