Comedian Steve Martin’s deep profound and insightful thought of “being the Best out of the Best”, hit me deep and hard for me to come up with this article and share my thoughts with you.
We are living in a very competitive world with many distractions and challenges ahead us. As employees we look forward to a secure and less stressful, friendly working environment with a better team. As employers they look forward to loyal employees and forever increasing profits. Continuous changes in the markets, ever changing customer needs and pressure from competition makes us feel that we are in a chaos. Besides facing all these professional challenges striking a balance between work & life is a night mare to many of us.
But bringing out the best in you will help you overcome all these challenges and rise above the crowd. Applying this at your work, at home, to your community and to the world at large will definitely make a huge difference in your life as well as in the lives of others.
Everyone loves to talk about the "BEST".Everyone loves to be related to the "BEST".And deep inside their hearts everyone wants to become the "BEST". Everyone wants to be the one that others talk about. Everyone wants to be classic and one of a kind. That's what every human being craves for.
Whichever field you are in, whatever designation you hold, where ever you work, if you want to standout the rest you have to be very good. You have to be remarkably superior, making it impossible for them to ignore you. Because the "BEST" cannot go unnoticed for long.
Just as cream poured in coffee or tea rises to the top, the "BEST" will stand out.
Being the best of the worst or Worst of the best will neither let you reach your brilliance nor excellence. Hence if you want to be a standout don’t fall in to the ordinary category. Don't do what commoners do. Do things different. Be different. Be special.
Do not forget that only the cream rises to the top.......
Being the best is easy but remaining at Best is very difficult which is why we say that excellence is not a destination but an eternal process of continuous improvement. In this journey of becoming the best, your competitor is neither your colleague at work nor your superior.
Your real competitor is YOU.
You should always challenge yourself to outperform yesterday’s YOU and become a better YOU each day. You have to focus on what you are capable of doing and not what you have done so far in your life. You must stand strong when others try to tear you down.
You should believe in yourself when on one else believes in you. You should enhance your values, stay committed and continuously challenge your thinking patterns and beliefs. If you want to make a difference, you should change the glass through which you see the world. You should be proactive. You have to make things happen while others are waiting to be led by someone.
Do not worry about things that you are not in control of. Worry only about things you could change. Because the slightest change you do in your organization or at your home might lead to the greatest success. You have to overcome the fear in doing new things, to let go of the doubts and unleash the real power within you.You have to be the Best you can be.
Be your own competitor and your own coach
Be remarkably captivating
