Apple wakes up and smells the coffee
While I've never considered myself a geek, friends and colleagues may disagree. One thing I always have been is an Apple fanboy. I love their approach to products as it echoes my own love of simplicity; from concepts through to interfaces, "Less is more" is still valid years after it was first penned in 1885.
Another thing I'm passionate about is bitcoin, I'm a believer. Apple decided a few months ago to pull all bitcoin wallet apps from the store. As a result I've been using the blockchain browser based wallet. It's a great wallet but it's not the app experience I would really like.
So I found myself at a cross road, my faith in the high church of Apple was faltering. I still feel guilty but I made the decision to move my mobile life to my Android phone, so two days ago I got it ready and prepared myself mentally to change faith.
Then it happened, I can only guess that Steve in heaven heard my prayers and visited Tim Cook in a dream to give him guidance and understanding. As if by magic the CoinJar app reappears in the app store. I wonder how many other devout Apple fans were on the tipping point of abandoning the iPhone.
Early adopters, geeks and technologists this is the same audience who initially made Apple successful and are some of the first users and believers in bitcoin.
It seems like Apple has finally woken up and smelt the coffee, which was purchased with a bitcoin app.
