The One Sentence Business Model

We are going to ______, to make _____ better, as measured by _____, and is worth _____.

Don’t you just hate huge mission statements and business plans? Why sacrifice acres of forest for your business plan that very few people will read from cover to cover ~ especially if it is possible to say in one page what other people say in one hundred.

Better still if you can say in one sentence what other people say in one page?

I saw this one sentence business model (above) last week in a tweet from@Forrester Research. I’ve since challenged a few people to fill in the gaps for their own start-up or organisation. It’s harder than it looks.

Another such sentence could be “My ________ is the only ________ that ________” Marty Neumier ~ The Brand Gap

And just like the principle that this Twitter, Medium and Ideapod are founded upon; less space forces creativity and increases impact. To use the very words that Twitter was founded upon….

“A character with character limits characters”. Biz Stone, Co-Founder of Twitter

Or in other words ~why use 1,000 words when you can say the same in 1 sentence?
