There are a lot of hot tech startups around these days. Many of them are relatively new; others which have been operating for some years are getting significant momentum most recently. I have tried identifying 25 very promising ones. Those I think you should keep an eye on.
Please note that it′s my own personal compilation and that it does not claim to be complete. Saying that, I believe that it gives a good overview for both experts and anyone being interested in tech startups:

Launched in October 2013, Distractify is one of those viral story sites like BuzzFeed, Viral Nova and Upworthy. It aims for a mix of original content and repackaged content meant to go viral. Its founder and CEO Quinn Hu is not only just 20 years old, but also the boss of one of the fastest growing new Internet sites.

It protects searchers' privacy by avoiding the "filter bubble“ of personalized search results. DuckDuckGo also emphasizes getting information from the best sources rather than the most sources.

5 年Interesting to read these kind of articles 4/5 years later and see what's left of these startups. I think the most successful ones are Coinbase, Lyft and (unfortunately) Tinder. People expected so much of Cir.ca. Anybody got a clue what happened to them? And I think Oyster got acquired by Google just to be shut down and to have their founders work for Google Play. This deal probaly did more good for Amazons Kindle Unlimited and Scribd thand it did for Google.

10 年Thank you for listing eYeka. Rare to see European startups included (although we would define ourselves as global given our geographical reach and presence). The definition of tech startup is an interesting question. I guess that it may not be limited to inventing new technology but would include new uses for existing technology.
