Batkid is My Hero!
San Francisco experienced another wave of crime yesterday, and the city is so lucky that Batkid was there to save the day!
I'm still piecing together the news reports, but so far as I can tell, here is what happened:
1. San Francisco police chief Greg Suhr called Batkid for help.
2. Batkid rescued a damsel in distress from Hyde Street cable car line.
3. With barely time to catch his breath, Batkid rushed off to capture The Riddler, who was robbing a bank vault at 550 Montgomery Avenue. Batkid turned the Riddler over to the San Francisco police, who rushed the criminal away.
4. Thanks to a brief break in the action, Batkid had time to eat lunch at the Burger Bar.
5. A flash mob ten alerted Batkid that the city once again needed his help. It turns out that The Penguin had kidnapped Lou Seal, the Giants mascot. The Penguin's evil plan was to force him to become a Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Batkid rushed in his Batmobile to the ballpark, where he saved Lou Seal.
6. The United States Justice Department acted quickly, indicting both The Penguin and The Riddler for their horrible crimes.
6. A grateful public gathered outside City Hall, where Mayor Edwin Lee gave Batkid a key to the city. (Here's a photo gallery of the events.)
Secret identity revealed!
My inside sources tell me that Batkid's secret identity is Miles Scott of Tulelake in Northern California. That he would travel so far to defend a city is, well, what makes him such a special superhero.
Miles is brave and strong. He is determined. When evil villians strike and bad things happen, he does not run away. He does not cry. Miles steps forward and does what has to be done.
Even if Miles is tired or hungry, he still is willing to save the day. My bet is even if Miles did not have time for a hamburger, he still would have had the energy to capture The Penguin.
The world needs more heroes like Miles Scott, I mean Batkid.
Wherever evil lurks, wherever the world needs strength and courage and determination, Batkid will be there.
That's why Batkid is my hero.
Thank you, Batkid!
