Love the quote. He made some beauties, didn't he? Looking forward to the day we put some of them into practice!

I agree with you Meredith P. The tangled web that we find ourselves in as a nation is a result of a basic loss of self responsibility and a growing sense of “its not my fault – you owe me.” The political system and the government have fed this disease in the spirit of creating a more compassionate and fair society. This has been propagated by a faceless monolith we call the federal government and by enormous shadow money that is used to further their respective causes, not the causes of the people. The lack of transparency in this system has made it nearly impossible to point a finger at anyone and hold him or her accountable for their actions. We have evolved from a government that was designed to be run by the people for the people into a well-financed war of “reds versus blues.” How do we break out of this death spiral? I pray that we do not follow history’s bloody path where violence was needed in countless revolutions to alter the course of a nation. Whenever life becomes so complex and difficult it always seems to help to get back to the basics. Perhaps a society that is largely governed locally with complete transparency and personal accountability is a good place to start.
