Walking vs Running

Walking

"Walking, ideally, is a state in which the mind, the body, and the world are aligned, as though they were three characters finally in conversation together...it leaves us free to think without being wholly lost in our thoughts. The rhythm of walking generates a kind of rhythm of thinking, and the passage through a landscape echoes or stimulates the passage through a series of thoughts."

Running
"You stop a horse that is bolting. You do not stop a jogger who is jogging. Foaming at the mouth, his mind riveted on the inner countdown to the moment when he will achieve a higher plane of consciousness, he is not to be stopped...What the third-century Stylite sought in self-privation and proud stillness, he is seeking though the muscular exhaustion of his body...this entire society, including its active, productive part -everyone- is running straight ahead, because they have lost the formula for stopping."

Running is good ... walking is good ... the main thing is get out the door and enjoy nature. Take a deep breath and be grateful that you can enjoy it. :-)
