Things I Carry: Power, Power & More Power

I know every single one of you reading this need these and you are most likely already opening an Amazon window to buy all three items, even before I give any explanation, 'cause this needs no explanation if you have traveled even a few times a year.
Traveling over 300k miles each year to the four corners of the earth — Israel, Iran, Turkey, China and the United States in the last 30 days alone — I often encounter challenges to charging and powering all the devices necessary to sustain life.
No matter where I go there is always a critical shortage of outlets and support for multiple devices. Through years of pain and agony and frustration I now travel with my universal complete whole earth solution.
The indispensable items are:
These are the minimum set of gadgets I have to have to keep the Apple MacBook Pro (& my wife's Air), our iPads, Kindles, Canon Mark III battery, Sony DSC-RX100 pocket camera battery, iPhone & even keep the required special cheapo local phones in working shape — not to mention this allows me to only have to bring only one universal adapter
for the electrical connection whether I'm on an airplane or hotel room.
Most importantly wherever there is a Ethernet connection I create a hotspot with an Airport Express. Since I never travel anywhere without my wife and she has a full complement of devices that need the same charging and WiFi access I am set with enough capacity to keep us working, taking a few thousand photos daily and keeping in touch with the rest of the world.
Go ahead and one-click yourselves into pain-free digital traveling nirvana by acquiring a set of these indispensables for yourself. Never again sit in your airplane seat debating which device gets the juice, or look at the hotel room trying to find just one more friggin' outlet — and god forbid setting the alarm clock so that you can get up in the middle of the night to charge that second battery.
And it all fits — even with extra batteries, cords and connectors — in my handy re-purposed Alpha Bravo Travel Riley Kit Bag. Go ahead get one of these too — damn ideal for keeping everything handy and organized

11 年Nice! About the only thing missing, IMO, is one of those travel USB rechargable batteries- hot stick or something - that you charge when you get someplace that's convenient - but if you are somewhere without an outlet and *can't* charge your phone - it's a great back up plan. My kids are young enough to be happy with crayons, markers, and plenty of single-subject notebooks. I have long-refused the handheld games for my kids. I force them to look out the window and tell me what they see,.
