Never settle for less than you deserve

$2000.00 for nine months work.

That's how much a publisher recently offered me for my next book.

I was like, "Really?"

That's $1000 in advance, and $1000 upon the manuscript's completion...and then minus my agent's 15%!

Then I was like, "Okay...so....I get the $1000 the first week...and then what am I supposed to do for the next nine months when I write the book?"

Needless to say, I said "Thank you, but no thank you." :)

This is just a reminder to never settle for less than what you're worth, whether it's your first book or your fortieth - or whichever field of endeavor in which you choose to hold or follow your vocation!
