20 Ways to Combat The Transfer Of Wealth From the Black Community
- Write Congress to force them to remove the clause in the SBA program and most federal programs that prevent felons from accessing government lending.
- Write your local Senator, DA and Judge to mandate that they enforce harsher penalties for falsifying police reports, unlawful arrests and for killing unarmed civilians
- To prevent unlawful arrest--mandate that body cams be worn at all times by all police and that dash cams be installed. If an arrest of any kind is made or a crime is committed and a body cam is not activated the officer should be charged with obstructing justice or tampering with evidence or worse depending on the outcome.
- Organize with a group of black families in your neighborhood or friend circle to share information about the resources available to our community (set asides, 203k loans, grants, voting, school board seats, financial literacy, investing and professional networking, tax sales etc.).
- Engage in crowd funding with a group of friends to buy real estate or invest.
- Patron Black owned business.
- Utilize Tax loopholes to buy the very property that is going to be sold for pennies on the dollar due to destruction caused by looting.
- VOTE at local elections.
- Fill out the Census to ensure resources to your community.
- Network with schools in your area and other Mayors to ask what they are doing to get grants and donor funding to improve resources for the community.
- Spend time with your children and educate them on what’s happening in the world, teach yourself a new skill, hug on your kids and show them immense love and comfort.
- Exercise your second amendment rights.
- If you own a business, network with other business owners (i.e. chamber of commerce) and ensure that information reaches another black business owner.
- Repair your credit
- Hold influencers accountable who take from the black community but do not give to it in PROPORTIONAL rates.
- Teach your kids their rights under the constitution.
- Network with the police in your community so they know who your child is.
- Be visible and vocal at PTA meetings or school board meetings or town planning meetings.
- Get a lawyer on retainer or research pro bono legal services just in case you need them.
- Get a WILL and a Life Insurance Policy.
