Being Unconventional, thought of looking at validation from a different angle and more relevant in the digital age. We are in the world of dating apps, and the quest for validation is strikingly evident. Women often receive a higher number of swipes and matches compared to men, leading to an inflated sense of validation. Men, on the other hand, may experience frustration and irritation due to fewer matches, impacting their self-esteem. My experience with Tinder mirrored this imbalance, while Bumble provided a better experience with more sapiosexual connections. Wait, do you believe that, even LinkedIn platform is treated as a Dating platform these days? (will keep this for my next article ;))
For men (exceptional cases)/women, relying heavily on virtual validation can create unrealistic expectations, and transitioning to real-life relationships can be challenging when the attention dwindles. This imbalance can lead to disappointment and a sense of inadequacy. Both genders must navigate these platforms with awareness, recognising the limitations of virtual validation and focusing on building genuine connections.
