20 seconds of courage

Matt Damon sits down with his heartbroken lovesick son on the floor and tells him,” You know, Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, just literally just 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery and I promise you something great will come of it”. This is my all-time favourite movie scene from “We bought a zoo”. From walking up to the podium with a new suggestion to driving an Innova with my shoes on (I was taught driving with my shoes off), the 20 seconds rule has never failed me. For every turnaround decision, I breathe in air to last me 20 seconds through the bravest or dumbest choice of going with my instinct. Matt kept his promise and I always emerged happier and feeling braver for the leap I made through.
Going over to your favourite Stunt Director you happen to meet in a check-in queue, writing a mail to the author you have always been a fan of and want to associate with, signing in for the Guitar class you always wanted to learn or saying “ Love you Daddy “ to your father on a regular day. 20 seconds is all it takes, and I can promise it will eventually check your wish list which otherwise would remain a Facebook post.
