20 Minutes of Sanity: From Dog Hair to Doctoral Dreams - A Day in the Life #15

It's 19 minutes before 11 PM, and I've got 20 minutes to spare. So why not?

Today was a good day.

Work gave great vibes and challenged me positively. Glad about that. Particularly frustrating text conversations with our most recent short-term rental homeowner. They said we had a dog.

We DO NOT have a dog. We love dogs and think dogs are great. But I don't know how to prove it wasn't me who left long white dog hair in the vacuum cleaner I never used. LOL. A moment in time.

I won't be paying that $75.

Instead, I'll be raising $100K in a day. Big gains at the workplace today. Go NMAAM FAM.

I highlighted the next six required texts for week 3 of Community Collaboration. The Myth of Normal sounds intriguing and I glaze over through the rest. It can be desensitizing—school that is. The professional students know what I'm talking about. We are a cohort of our own…

I chuckled out loud on that one.

I've been thinking about the signature assignment for this class which includes a documented interview with a person necessary to collaborate with within the scope of my applied research project.

I'm studying TSU. I want to sit with (looks down at the clock for the first time; it's only been 11 mins…Oh we're flowing!) the new President—Dr. Robert Johnson.

Ironically enough, I just met him and exchanged information. He's a fan, he's a fan, he's a fan…of NMAAM and wants to bring his wife to visit. Shout out to my Auntie for that Nashville City Club membership (love you).

Today's the debate and I'm not interested in the politics of the politics. Alex and I are like—see y'all at the polls. I don't need anything else right now. But to each his own, or whatever they say, because I usually don't *shrugs shoulders.

I'm not going to study tonight. Tuesday is a great day to kick back from a writing weekend since most of our assignments through the entire program have been due on Monday nights. I choose rest.

All things in moderation.

It's been 19 minutes. And I'm not going to push my luck.

I want a 5 AM workout tomorrow. Let's go!

Did you get that 5AM workout? I definitely can relate to the desensitization - you look at the stack of books and the ask of the next assignment due 7 days from the last (in my case) and think sure what the heck. I don’t know where it’s gonna come from but…I’m going to conquer it.??
