As it is said that books are our best friend, like best friends they are one of the most important parts of our life. A book is like a best friend that constantly inspires us to become the best versions of ourselves. Books enrich our minds with knowledge just like a good friend. We can learn a lot from books and they can help us in overcoming our failures as well as shape our minds.

There are endless reasons why one should read books. The important thing is to get the most out of your reading and to read to inherited knowledge. Here are a few tips on how to be an efficient reader,

  1. Read with a good light either at a desk or table.
  2. Give yourself a quiet environment so that you can concentrate on your book.?
  3. Keep a bookmark within reach.
  4. Before beginning to read, read about the author a little, this will build your view of the author.
  5. Strategize your time, set reading time and set targets.
  6. Get a feel for what's expected of you by reading. Pay attention to when you can skim and when you need to understand every word.
  7. Write as you read. Take notes and talk back to the text. Explain in detail the concepts. Mark up the pages.
  8. If you get stuck, think and write about where you got stuck.?
  9. Record and explore your confusion. Confusion is important because it’s the first stage in understanding.
  10. When the going gets difficult, and you don’t understand the reading, slow down and reread sections. Try to read them to someone, or have someone else read the section and talk through it together.
  11. Break the lengthy book into segments. Read 10 pages (and take notes, if required) then do something else. Later, read the next 10 pages and so on.
  12. Read the acknowledgement and author note to learn important details about the book, and for information about the structure and movement of ideas.

Being an efficient reader does not always mean completing the book in a short time, it is more about getting some knowledge irrespective of reading time.??

A book every human should read once in life and apply in your daily conversations. Every part of it or I can say that every lesson of this book will work in every kind of relationship.?
