It was almost exactly 2 years ago…
November 26, 2018…
The Monday after Thanksgiving….
The turkey was eaten, the food coma simply a reminder of the good times….
And I showed up to work, ready to give it my all.
2 hours later, I was on the streets…
No job, no future, no hope.
At 62 years of age, my future which had until minutes earlier, looked very rosy… was now in shambles.
Who is going to hire me at 62?
I remember bracing myself against the cold wind as I made my way to my car.
My thoughts slowly turning from despair to excitement….
You see, I have always believed that opportunity can be found in the most difficult of situations.
And now it was my turn to prove it.
In the next weeks an idea formed….
And I put it into action.
I found a coach to help me write a book.
An Amazon best-seller, it set me up to start my business consulting program.
But more importantly, it was the conduit that reconnected me with my past colleague, Dr Kent Gustavson.
And that led to one of the most dramatic and life changing opportunities ever.
We put our heads together, made some plans, tried some stuff, tried more stuff, stopped what didn't work and doubled down on what did...
We started Thought Leader Path, believing that the world in the middle of covid needed some real help...
And that people needed to find their own possibilities, and build on their own purpose.
We signed a few clients… in the middle of an epidemic.
And today, less than 9 months later, we oversee an organization of approximately 30 specialists in technology, marketing, content and many other specialized fields.
We are changing lives, using the same processes and techniques we developed to build Thought Leader Path.
2 years ago, opportunity came to me disguised in the form of the words “You’re last day is today.”
Today, I am extremely thankful that I saw the opportunity and not the difficulty.
It’s your turn to seek opportunity.
What are you going to choose?
