2 Wins and 1 Challenge

2 Wins and 1 Challenge

Every coaching and training call hosted by me or anyone on my team starts with what we call "2 wins and 1 challenge".?

Let me explain what it is and why it's important.

Review a specific period of time and assess the activities that you've completed or that brought you joy; those are your wins. Share and record them!?

For example, the following are all wins shared during our programmatic meetup (the community I lead):

- I helped the agency save $75,000 by QAing after a fellow trader and uncovering a setup error in the flighting.

- I took my vitamins daily and walked the dog for 45 mins 3x in the last week.

- I took an extra 10 mins to help explain this concept to my account lead, and they told me it was beneficial for them.

- During my 6-month review with a team report, I realized they lacked training in optimization and data insight, so we discussed a training plan to implement in the following 3 months to help them. It made me feel really good to give them clarity and encouragement. I could tell they felt the same.

- I logged off at 5 PM and spent quality time with my kiddo this week; I realized how much they love running and what a "decompressing" session it is for me.

- I'm teaching myself to play the piano for 30 mins after work every day.

- I've read 3 articles this week and listened to 1 podcast to keep track of industry trends.

A challenge is something we've struggled with or have not completed during that same time frame. This is usually easier to think of because it is so easy for us to talk bad about what we do vs. what we accomplished.

Why is it important to celebrate your wins?

I mean why the f* not? Big or small, it is a win!

Start a Win folder where you add screenshots of your wins or take note of them. Just like the sun can shine or hide, on the days when motivation and confidence don't show up, you have something to remind you how badass you are.?

On the professional side, a win folder is important to keep track of your progress and success so that during your annual review, you have a way to remind your boss or team how dope you are. This is also a good folder to have and to upkeep so that when you go for your well-deserved promotion, you show the "carfax."

Here are a few screenshots I've taken recently that made me feel proud and encouraged. These are my wins:

Rest In Peace Gabriel! You are missed!

These are some of the few that keeps things going with and without motivation!

This week's Vibe:

I'm giving you permission to celebrate your big and small wins. If you haven't yet, I strongly recommend Atomic Habits by James Clear! (Please use my amazon referral link ????)

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

"You get what you repeat."

"If you can get 1% better each day for one year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done."

"Learning one new idea won’t make you a genius but committing to lifelong learning can be transformative."

My Networking Tip:

When attending conference and netwroking or social event, remember these:

  1. I can help answer [this challenge] with specific [this solution]
  2. I am looking for [very specific need to fulfill]
  3. Listen to your new friend/connection needs
  4. I know someone that can help you with [need of your new friend]

For example:

1) I can help traders and adops increase campaign performance with hands on keyboard training.

2) I am looking for agencies and in-house programmatic team in need of training and overall revenue growth. Do you know any media director I can help?

3) "Do you know anyone that can help us with this type of programmatic buy in the UK that makes it easy to launch"

4) Oh I know John-Paul Burke- Programmatic and Video Gaming at Seika Media and he can help you fulfill this buy US an globally. Reach out to him!

That's it! Be specific and cut the fluff!

Thank me later:

Get yourself this Airpod Bluetooth transmitter/receiver to plug into your airplane seat. It's become my favorite travel item! You welcome!
