The 2 Robbers Of Time

On this cold, rainy, and chilling Saturday I have Good News and Bad News. Right now, I’m beyond counting the number of cups of Coffee running in my bloodstream. Let’s talk about the News, I’ll start with the bad.
The Bad News is that there are two robbers of time that haunt us every moment of our life. They seek our attention every moment. They are always on our shoulders ready to ambush us and steal our time. When these two robbers are done with their heist, we are left in despair, angry, full of regret.
These two robbers are the reason that our world is filled with doom and gloom.
These two robbers of time are: Past & Future.
PAST
The first robber of time is the Past. The Past is etched in our experiences. The Good experiences are equal in viciousness and the Bad ones. Living in the past is vicious as it leads to Regret and Fear.
Regret is when you say: “I wish I had done/not done this or that” For example, if got angry and hurled insults to your friend which resulted in the friendship ending. You say, “I wish I had not insulted my friend.”
The Bad experiences trigger Fear in us. When we face a similar situation the Bad experiences trigger the Fear that we’ll be hurt, disrespected, or abused again. On the other hand, the Good experiences trigger the Fear that they are too good to last.
The problem with Fear is that it attracts what we are afraid of. For example, if you did a presentation and people laughed at your bad pronunciation, next time you present you are of bad pronouncing which ends up happening again.
The Past robs you of your time as you are on a constant state of Regret or Fear. In this state, it’s difficult to make the right decisions or take the right actions in the situation on your face.
FUTURE
Living in the Future is the second robber of time. It is all about anticipating the Future – What will I say? What will I do? What will happen? Will things go as planned?
Being in the Future state of mind leads to the sole issue of Anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. When you are anxious you sweat, feel restless and tense, and heart beats as if it wants to break free of your body.
This feeling comes mostly when it is the first time you are doing something or the last time you did it things didn’t go as planned. The uncertainty suffocates you from the inside.
Being anxious affects you as you try to avoid mistakes, this raises your awareness so high that you are unable to tap into your Flow mode. Flow mode is when you are at your best, and things seem to come naturally. However, being anxious cuts off your ability to tap the Flow state.
For instance, if the last time you proposed an idea to your Manager he never listened, when you have a new idea you waste your time thinking about how the meeting will go.
RENDERING THE ROBBERS USELESS
After the Bad times, the Good times always come.
The Good News is that you have the ability to keep the Past and the Future at arm's length,
Now, just because the 2 robbers cause destruction when they show up it’s not the end of the world. You have the Power to take back your time. You exert your power by starving the Past and Future of your attention. There is only one way to take back your time.
You reclaim your time from the robbers by Living in the Now.
Living in the Now means that you are being in the Present, that is, your attention is on what is happening in This moment.
When you live in the Now, you tap into the Flow state at will, and Regret and Fear are wiped out of your mind. You make the right decision and take the right action that the situation demands. In this state of mind, you are able to live your life to the fullest.
THAT’S ALL
That’s all for this wet Saturday.
Enjoy your Saturday.
By living in the Now.
PS
Do you live in the now?
