The 2 Questions You Need to Ask Yourself Before Posting to Facebook

Facebook is driving you crazy, right? I know because I've been in that boat. My life's work is wrapped up in Facebook and some days we still have a love-hate relationship.

But the reality is that while the algorithm is somewhat mysterious, there are things that we KNOW about how Facebook works.

We know that Facebook is all about showing actions and responses. They want people to share posts and like posts and talk in the comment section.

We know that the more people like and comment and share, the more favorably Facebook views your content.

It is a truly social platform.

And users are 100% aware of that. We know that everyone can see everything we do on Facebook. If we comment in a thread, we know that comment might pop up in our friend's feeds. If we like a page, we can expect that our names will be seen associated with that page at one point or another. And whether we acknowledge that or not, that makes us uber aware of everything we do on Facebook.

So, as a business, we need to ensure that our page is something they want to be associated with. And we need to ensure that what we post is shareable or discussable

What does that mean?!

Simply put: when you look at a possible post you have to ask yourself- "Would my target market share this?" If the answer is YES, post it! If the answer is no, ask yourself one more question- "Would my target market be willing to discuss this on the page?" If the answer is YES, post away!

If the answer is no.... hit delete and start again.

Really, it's not about figuring out some complicated Facebook algorithm. It's about figuring out what makes your target market tick, what makes them respond, what makes them take action!

How do I know that this works? Well, I have clients who regularly see reach in the thousands and reactions in the hundreds, completely organically, on their Facebook posts. That's no coincidence, my friends.

Try it out and let me know how it goes!

Great post! I feel like that's the only things you should be posting... it's all about the engagement! :)
