The 2 Questions That Kick Up All The Fears

There are 2 questions that seem to trigger all the fears -- “What do you do?” and “What do you charge?”
I have a feeling there’s a connection between them.
If you panic or freak out when a prospect or client asks you these questions, you’re not alone.
So in Episode #418 of the Marketing Mentor Podcast, my good friend, Terri Trespicio, and I hash out what I’m calling the parallel problem of “what I do” and “what I’m worth."
Here are some high points to check out:
1:24 First, Terri choking hard at the opening. Yup.
2:43 Why "what do you do" feels a little like "what do you charge"
8:14 Why you don't actually have to answer THAT question
11:05 A few ways to tackle the elevator pitch
18:41 How to answer it even if you hate your job right now
20:20 How to use the new audio feature on your LinkedIn profile (find 30+ excellent examples here.)
Listen here and then share in the comments what you've learned and/or how you feel about these 2 questions.

3 年Great podcast addressing important questions! Knowing that even the pro's "choke" sometimes is helpful for those of use who are new to the copywriting world. It reinforces the point that we don't have to be perfect and polished all the time.

3 年Thank you Ilise Benun and Terri Trespicio for talking about these two questions. I enjoyed listening to the podcast.
