We’ve all heard every story about guerrilla #filmmakers being a Swiss army multihyphenate and wearing all the hats for their first #films. Does it work? Sometimes… But in my experience, it’s more the exceptions and not the norm. So you do you. But I want a good experience #onset. I only see that happen when a #filmmaker with a clear vision surrounds herself or himself with a trustworthy team to have a good time working hard together.?
Aspiring filmmakers often fall prey to the belief that their first film can be a do-it-yourself project. They believe that they can handle all aspects of the film production process and refuse to rely on a team of high-quality department heads to help them bring their vision to life. However, this is often the reason that first-time filmmakers fail.
What I see happen often is #newfilmmakers don’t hire anyone or only hire people they know, family and friends, to help them with their film production. They believe that it is easier to work with people they already know, and they assume that these individuals will understand their vision and what they want from each department. However, this type of thinking can lead to disastrous results. Instead of hiring people based on their skill set and expertise, these filmmakers hire people based on personal relationships, leading to a team that lacks the necessary experience and knowledge to execute the filmmaker's vision effectively.

The key to successful #filmproduction is hiring a team of department heads who have the necessary skill set and expertise to bring the filmmaker's vision to life. It is essential to be clear about what is expected from each department and be willing to listen to the department head's expertise. A good filmmaker doesn't need to know how to do everything, but they do need to understand their vision and how to #communicate that vision to their team.
#Collaboration is the key to this shit. It’s the world’s most intense team sport. #teamwork is everything when it comes to film production. A strong, clear vision is essential, but it is equally important to be open to the ideas and expertise of the team. A filmmaker needs to surround themselves with people who can help them execute their vision based on their respective skill sets and expertise. This is where the value of a high-quality team of department heads comes into play.
Being someone that people want to work with is perhaps the most significant asset that I personally have. I aint smart. #NoahNoesNuttin, But I work hard to make sure everyone on my set is safe, healthy, and happy. Because it is going to be tough. Surrounding yourself with people you trust to keep it together when it gets tough is paramount.?Filmmaking is a collaborative process that requires everyone to be on the same page and work towards a common goal. When a filmmaker is someone that people want to work with, they create a positive work environment that fosters creativity and productivity. A filmmaker who is collaborative, communicative, and respectful of their team is much more likely to succeed than one who is not. Trust Me.
So what does all this shit mean? The importance of hiring the right people for the job cannot be overstated. A filmmaker's success is largely dependent on the quality of their team of department heads. It is essential to be clear about what is expected from each department, listen to the expertise of the team, and be collaborative. A filmmaker who is someone that people want to work with has a significant advantage in the film production process. By surrounding themselves with a high-quality team of department heads, a filmmaker can bring their vision to life and produce a successful first film. #FixItInPrep #MakeAPlan #MakeABackUpPlan the Execute.?
