Fungal infections and the tumor microenvironment

Prasenjit Dey leads a lab at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center studying the tumor microenvironment and microbiome, specifically looking at how the type-2 immune response promotes tumorigenesis in pancreatic cancer and how the intertumor microbiome enhances this type 2 immune response. They are now extending this study to lung cancer where the type 2 immune response can similarly drive tumorigenesis.
