For some, April 20 (4/20) has one particular meaning. For me, it’s another year around the sun - and this year is also a milestone birthday. ??

Every year, I wake up to my phone practically exploding with birthday wishes flooding in from all corners of cyberspace – LinkedIn, Facebook, you name it. Some are heartfelt, others just quick shout-outs, but each one brings a smile to my face.

Now, I know what some folks might say – “Ah, it’s just a social media thing, doesn’t really matter, right?” Wrong! In today’s fast-paced online world, where attention spans are shorter than ever and distractions lurk around every corner (squirrel!), taking a moment to connect, even if it’s just to say “Happy Birthday,” can mean the world to someone.?

It shows you’re thinking of them, you care, and hey, it puts you back on their radar – whether they’re a potential client, a business ally, or just a good old friend.

I’ve always believed in the power of relationships, especially in marketing and sales. They say it takes seven touches to make a sale, but in today’s social media landscape, I’d bump that up to seventeen! Each interaction counts, no matter how small – even a simple birthday greeting can pave the way for future connections and opportunities.

So, here’s the deal – next time you see that little notification pop up reminding you it’s someone’s special day, take a second to send some virtual confetti their way. Personalize it, spread some cheer, and watch as you brighten their day – and maybe even your own.
