A 2-Minute Gut Check – Featuring Melissa Giller
Hey, Bob here!
Ever felt like you’re holding a hundred things at once, and if you drop even one, the whole stack might tumble??
Today, I want to introduce you to Melissa .
A powerhouse juggling family, business, and self.
All while staying true to her own journey.
Melissa’s story isn’t just about survival.
It’s about finding purpose in the chaos, facing her limits, and learning how to thrive.?
Her journey??
It’s a lesson in getting comfortable with being uncomfortable —every single day.
Melissa started off in the corporate world.
Climbing the ranks as a management consultant at a top firm.?
She had the corner office and the promotion.
But here’s the catch:?
She did it all while preparing to be a first-time mom.?
When she was told she’d earn more if she worked longer hours, something clicked.?
She knew it was time to walk away from the corporate grind and pursue something deeper.
Something more fulfilling.
Leaving a high-paying job to become a stay-at-home mom wasn’t easy.?
She found herself in uncharted waters.
Looking after two young kids just 26 months apart with a broken foot.
All while struggling to find purpose.?
Anxiety and panic attacks crept in.
Leaving her feeling like she was barely keeping her head above water.?
But it was in this tough season that Melissa had her wake-up call.
“What am I doing?” she thought.?
“I don’t want to just survive. I want to live.”
She started focusing on her well-being, seeking out therapy, and healing.
And eventually—her own voice.?

She began sharing her story on social media, being honest about her struggles and growth.?
Her openness resonated with other moms.
And soon enough, she was approached to start a self-care business for mothers.?
That was her first taste of entrepreneurship, and she’s been evolving ever since.
Here are some lessons from Melissa’s journey:
1. Energy, Not Time, Is Your Most Valuable Resource
Forget squeezing every task into your day.?
Melissa learned to prioritize activities that filled her with energy first.
Whether it was a quiet morning coffee or a moment to herself to set her intentions for the day.
2. Set Boundaries for Yourself and Your Family
When it comes to managing the household, Melissa learned to pass the baton to her husband.
And let him take charge without her micromanaging.?
She’s creating a team, not carrying it all alone.
3. Let Go of the Guilt
Melissa had to unlearn a lifetime of beliefs about productivity and self-worth.?
She realized that her value wasn’t in how much she could do.
But in how well she could show up for herself and her family.?
It’s okay to say “this season is about me” and to live that truth.
Melissa’s story reminds us that life’s hardest moments can be the start of something new.?
You don’t have to have all the answers, just the courage to ask yourself the right questions.
So here’s my gut check for you:?
Are you ready to look at your life and ask,?
“Am I living true to myself?”
Until next time,
Bob
