Key Person of Influence - Daniel Priestley

================================

My 2-Min Takeaways.

Five steps to becoming highly paid/highly valued in your niche.

Choose a niche - small is lean, beautiful and profitable. Daniel is big on niching down as small as possible, not sure I agree entirely but ‘on paper’ he makes a good argument.

To find your niche? Map out a timeline of your life, highs and lows. From this, identify your passions, what’s made you money, skills you’ve acquired, join up the dots and bingo, there’s your niche.

1. PITCH

What do you say when someone asks “what do you do”? Identify your ‘big game’. What gets you out of bed raring to go, create a pitch that is a statement about how you show up in the world.

From “I design logos” to “I help outdoor brands tell their story and share their love of adventure with the world through the strategic application of brand visuals and awesome design. Typically this results in brands creating cult tribes of raving fans and securing a bigger market share for their products.”

2. PUBLISH

Write stuff that demonstrates your expertise. Publish it where your audience will see it. Better still, write a book.

3. PRODUCT

Products are packaged up ideas. Use digital products, productised services, infoproducts, webinars as part of a product ecosystem. This is where you will make money.

Products need to help implement, NOT just be ideas.

4. PROFILE

Become ‘google-able’. What do people see when they google you?

Create a profile that supports your expertise. Videos, articles, social media - all form part of your personal brand, building on the ‘know, like trust’ factor.

5. PARTNERSHIP

Use the power of your network to spread your message.

Who has your customers before you do? Who do you know with a big list whose customers would also benefit from what you do? What three businesses could give away some stuff as part of a free bundle? Who can create a product with you?

The final takeaway? Just do it. Start, build momentum and keep that up. A little every day soon builds into a lot.
