2 Min Read - Revive your Purpose
Purpose provides direction, enhances engagement, and amplifies successes. But the constant pressure to just get tasks done can create unconscious course mis-directions that will deliver you to places you never wanted to go.
Observe
Take time to observe what’s going on. Holding your nose too close to the grindstone can leave you with disfigured vision. Look up occasionally to make sure the tasks cluttering your to-do lists are supporting your purpose and not distracting from it.
Open Up
You can’t see what you can’t see. Seeking out new perspectives and new approaches to achieving your purpose can remove your blinders and make you aware of exciting new paths to explore.
Reflect
Step away. Do something that engages you in a new way. Then reflect on your purpose. Being more aware of your purpose and your desire to stick to it can provide significant new insight into how to do things better instead of just doing more things.
Taking time to revive your purpose on a regular basis will help you stay on track, stay engaged, and help you appreciate how far you’ve come.
“It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something.” ―Winston S. Churchill
