Happy Monday! ??

Monday again, it comes around quickly, doesn’t it! I hope you all had a great weekend with some quality downtime. We spent the weekend with friends at Bigbury Camping Barn. It is a beautiful part of the world, and the outdoor pizza oven, hot tub and great company helped. Highly recommend a stay if you get the chance!

Ai ADVANCEMENTS

OpenAi > Apple?

GPT Agents are here, the GTP Store is on the way, and it feels a bit like when Apple released the App Store, except potentially much bigger. But what are GTP Agents? Natalie at OpenAi explains

What are GPTs?

GPTs are custom versions of ChatGPT that users can tailor for specific tasks or topics by combining instructions, knowledge, and capabilities. They can be as simple or complex as needed, addressing anything from language learning to technical support.

Who can create GPTs?

Plus and Enterprise users can start creating GPTs from last week at chat.openai.com/create. Later this month, we’ll launch the GPT Store, so people can feature and make money from their GPTs. We plan to offer GPTs to more users soon.

Do I need to know how to code to create GPTs?

No coding skills are required, making it accessible to experts in any field or anyone with a passion for a topic! For developers, additional customisation is possible through coding actions that connect GPTs to external data or services.

How do I create a GPT?

You can start creating a GPT by having a conversation with the GPT Builder in ChatGPT at https://chat.openai.com/gpts/editor. You'll add instructions, upload files to its knowledge base, and select its capabilities, such as web searching, image creation, or data analysis.

What are some examples of GPTs?

Examples include Canva and Zapier AI Actions. GPTs range across categories like productivity, education, and entertainment, addressing niche needs or everyday tasks.

Can I make money from my GPT?

Yes, later this month, OpenAI is launching the GPT Store where creators’ GPTs can be featured. Creators may earn money based on the usage of their GPTs by the community, subject to our terms.

How are privacy and safety handled in GPTs?

Creators of GPTs cannot access user conversations with their GPTs. OpenAI has automatic systems to help ensure GPTs adhere to usage policies, preventing harmful content and impersonation. Users can report concerns for further review.

What is the GPT Store?

The GPT Store is a marketplace where users can search for and access various GPTs. GPTs can be featured, and users can explore different categories to find GPTs that suit their needs.

Can ChatGPT Enterprise customers use GPTs?

Yes, enterprise customers can create internal-only GPTs for specific business needs, departments, or proprietary datasets, without coding. An admin console is provided for managing how GPTs are shared within the organisation.

How do GPTs relate to OpenAI's mission?

The creation and community involvement with GPTs align with OpenAI's mission to build safe and beneficial AGI. It enables a broader range of input on AI development, increasing the diversity of ideas and approaches for safer AI outcomes.

Here at DotMedia, we are currently re-looking at our 'ICP' - 'Ideal Customer Profile' and properly trying to define it.

We built a GPT agent to help us and other businesses.

This is our first basic GPT: "Ideal Customer Profile Generator." feel free to have a play with it here, do let me know what you think.

MIND

The Science of Switching Off

Coming back to my weekend away, I was thinking about the importance of downtime. In this fast-paced world, the importance of taking breaks is often overlooked.

However, the scientific evidence, it strongly supports the necessity of downtime for both mental health and productivity. Let's explore the compelling research on this topic.

Stress Reduction:

Research indicates that taking breaks can significantly improve mood, enhance performance, and increase concentration and attention. Without these pauses, our brains don't function as efficiently, leading to increased burnout and associated health problems from chronic stress.

Enhanced Cognitive Function:

Engaging in hobbies or activities that stimulate the mind, such as reading, playing an instrument, or doing puzzles, is not only enjoyable but also beneficial for our cognitive abilities. Studies have found that such activities improve memory executive functioning and even reduce the risk of dementia. Interestingly, engaging in mentally stimulating hobbies for at least an hour daily can be particularly beneficial, potentially reducing the risk of cognitive decline by 8-11% for each additional activity.

Mood Boost:

The science corroborates our intuitive understanding that participating in enjoyable activities during weekends enhances happiness. This positive state spills over into our work and personal relationships, creating a virtuous cycle of emotional and physical well-being.

Improved Sleep:

Unplugging from work and its associated stressors has proven mental health benefits. It reduces levels of the stress hormone cortisol, decreasing the incidence of depression and anxiety, which in turn can lead to better sleep. This quality rest is crucial for a productive week ahead.

Burnout Prevention:

Regular breaks are crucial for preventing burnout. A constant grind without rest leads to decreased efficiency and increased health issues related to chronic stress.

Social Connection:

Strong social bonds are fundamental to good mental health. Studies show that a lack of social connection can be more detrimental to health than obesity, smoking, and high blood pressure. People who feel more connected experience lower anxiety and depression levels, higher self-esteem, and greater empathy. This creates a positive feedback loop of social, emotional, and physical well-being.

As you prepare for the week ahead, remember that switching off is not just a luxury but a scientifically backed strategy for a healthier, more productive you. By taking time to recharge and invest in your well-being, you're setting yourself up for success in the days to come.

Your future self will thank you!

"I'll be back" - GPT 5 is coming...

In a recent interview, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed the development of the next-generation AI model, GPT-5.

This superintelligent AI model is being built with substantial funding from Microsoft, among other investors.

What's intriguing about GPT-5 is its potential to surpass human intelligence not just in terms of knowledge but also in reasoning and processing complex ideas.

This is a stride towards achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI), a concept that's been stirring debates among governments, regulators, and tech giants, considering the potential risks and benefits.

OpenAI is currently working on advanced autonomous software agents and GPT-5, requiring more data and computing power.

? The company has massive costs of training increasingly complex AI models

? Is seeking additional funds from Microsoft

? Altman says the training will require procuring more data, both public and private, to improve the model.

It's believed a release date will be announced this December and that GPT-5 will be rolled out during 2024.
