The Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains region is experiencing significant housing and population growth, with a $2 billion investment pipeline forecast as part of the Regional Development South Australia Regional Blueprint 2023 released this month. This is part of a wider $62.56 billion investment pipeline for all of South Australia.
“The $2 billion?forecast?investment in?the?BGLAP?region?strategically aligns with the region’s strengths, encompassing primary industries, value-add, tourism, circular economy, manufacturing, education, light industry, and residential development,” says RDABGLAP Chair Rolf Binder.
Complementing these private sector endeavours are public infrastructure projects, including water, road, and civic infrastructure, set to support growth.
Barossa wins two trophies at the Best Of Wine Tourism Awards
The Great Wine Capitals Best Of Wine Tourism Awards has once again spotlighted the crème de la crème in wine tourism across 12 majestic wine capitals. Two gems from our very own Barossa Valley shone brightly during the awards night at the National Wine Centre.
Alkina Wine Estate ?clinched the 'Accommodation' trophy with their beautifully revamped guesthouse and cottage. Meanwhile, Pindarie Wines captured hearts (and palates) and bagged the 'Wine Tourism Services' trophy. Their boutique family-run vineyard and inviting cellar door promise an unforgettable vine-to-wine journey.
AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award
The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award celebrates the leadership of women in Australia’s rural and emerging industries, businesses, and communities.
A $15,000 Westpac grant is awarded to each state/territory winner with an additional $20,000 ?for the national winner.
The grant can be used for formal training in leadership and business management; overseas study tours; establishing business plans or pilot programs; developing educational or promotional campaigns; networking at forums and conferences; developing training programs; testing technology; developing a new business concept; and publishing books.
Nominations close October 25.
TAFE SA announces 4000 additional fee-free courses
Starting in 2024, TAFE SA will roll out over 4,000 additional Fee-Free TAFE spots annually for three consecutive years.
They’re targeting sectors thirsting for talent including hospitality, digital technology, ?construction, agriculture, manufacturing and defence. They especially urge First Nations Australians, youth aged 17-24, the unemployed, unpaid carers, women in distinct sectors, individuals with disabilities, and certain visa holders to explore this opportunity.
