The $2 Bill Trick
This isn’t really a trick but we have had a lot of fun with it. Living in the Las Vegas Area and spending a bit of time in the Casinos, we have occasion to tip a lot of the casino team members who take care of us. We always make it a point to tip with $2 bills. If a server brings us a couple drinks, we drop one or two $2 bills on her tray. The majority of the time we get a big smile and often she will start a conversation stating she collects them, they are good luck or she saves them for her kids. We also look for workers who normally don’t have interaction with guests, such as the cleaning people. We will often walk up to them, hand them a $2 bill and thank them for their hard work. Amazing reactions some times. This is a fun thing we have been doing for several years and have no plans to stop. It also works well with Lyft drivers, wait staff, valet, and anyone else serving the public.
A little different trick but same concept, when we fly we take packs of Jelly Belly beans and give them to the flight crew. Always a smile and most usually a free drink. I have even had then thank me over the PA.
Just think how much difference you can make with your simple thank-you act. You never know how someone else may pay it forward. You may well start something great. We have shared this with a few of our friends who are now doing it as well.

We are often asked how we get the $2 bills. We simply order them from our bank. They are $200 per pack of 100 and we usually order two packs at a time. We bank at Wells Fargo and it usually takes them less than a week to get them for us. I would think other banks can accommodate as well.
If you have a little trick or tip you use to bring a smile to people you come in contact with, I would appreciate if you would share it with me. Things are crummy for a lot of people right now and we can all use a smile.
