The PURPOSE & Functions of the STORY

The meta-form of the Story is used by Human beings as the major framework for arranging of the various kinds of sensual inputs, information, notions and ideas into timely and causally interconnected meaningful Whole.

The Stories are used for the storage and transfer of the particular/local and general perception of Life from humans to humans, from generation to generation and across the cultures.

The form of Story allows small people to gain the initial understanding about Life and human action on Earth and then to apply this knowledge when entering and expanding their own creative and explorative activities.

Through understanding of the causalities conveyed through the Stories One can anticipate the results of the particular way of action and therefore to choose the course and means that are most appropriate for achieving her/his goals.

The form of Story is also used to develop further the human understanding of Life and of One-self by adding and integrating the new experiences, information and perceptions acquired during the course of creative/productive action, thus updating and re-writing the particular part of the Story.

In a way we can title the Story as the core framework in the "Operational System" of the Human being.

The Stories for(m) the MEANING

Human being is often identified and differentiated from the other mammals as the conscious, capable of self-reflection, meaning-seeking, meaning-making and purpose-driven creature.

The Stories are the foundational CARRIERS of Meaning and the major tools of Guidance on the earthly Human Journey.

The Stories we hear, witness and experience through our Family, Community, Organizations, Media, Cultural and Public institutions do found, form and continuously shape the developing every One's perception of the meaning and purpose of her/his personal Life within the interwoven Whole of the natural Earth environment and the Human World.

And so the meaning perceived through the Narratives ingested and digested from the environment then drives and guides One's action in daily Life.

PERSONAL Scripts, Roles & Scenarios

Upon arrival onto Earth we usually download into our system the Scripts & Roles from the two bloodlines of our both parents.

Then we mix in the Scenarios & additional Scripts from the neighborhood, educational, professional and other social environments that are fundamentally shaped by the deeper Stories of the Collective (Cultural & Global) levels.

Later driven by the innate Curiosity we look for the Stories on the outside in the various media (books, magazines, news, movies, TV series, etc.) that can provide some hints for understanding of the Stories at play in our own Life and for the inspiration to go-live through and gradually dissolve them on the personal Journey into unlocking of our own unique full Human potential ..

.. to actualize, to create, to live and to enjoy One's personal Dream Story.

COLLECTIVE Human Story at Play

While looking at the current structure of institutions, processes and systems of the Human Civilization and listening to the prevailing Narratives conveyed through the majority of the mass and social media channels we can witness that our Life is firmly rooted within the aged DarWINian Story of competition, consumption, wealth accumulation and hierarchical power centralization based on the root assumptions/laws of lack, scarcity and fear.

Of course there are some areas of Life (mostly in the communal and NGO sphere) where the Story of the non/post-DarWINian cooperation has it's ground, spreads slowly and makes direct evoLutionary impact on our Life. While growing still those examples are the apparent minority that operates within the general competitive framework based on the DarWINian narrative.

Let's look deeper into the structures and the trajectory of the Human Life development that is based on the DarWINian Story to understand better the direction and the most likely end-result for that kind of further movement.

The meta-form and the analogy of the GAME can help us here to describe and to understand the reasons behind the most of today's Human Action. It will be applied while continuing in the next article of this series.

This article (and the whole series of 9) is meant to share the particular subjective view on the structures, processes & evoLutionary developments of the earthly Human Life. This might add to the diversity of questions to explore at the particular Stage within the unique personal Journey of the other curious One.
