1st Place!

1st Place!

In May of 2017, I shared a very personal part about my life in what would become my first LinkedIn article. Titled Enough Runner-Ups, I humbly sought after support to cover my educational expenses as I was praying, hoping, and working toward my degree in marketing from USF. At the time, I did not know how I would continue to fund my education as I still had four semesters in front of me. I wondered if "my dream was too big" and whether my time in the United States would end for me as a "runner-up." The article can be found here.

I concluded that article with the following words...

I know I cannot be 1st place on my own. So here I am, humbly asking you for your support. Help me gain 1st place: to be an independent man that escaped his history, broke the cycle of poverty, and will one day be able to give back to all the ones that have shaped me to this day. I invite you to be a part of my journey and support me.

These words, in a way, ended on a cliffhanger. In part because I did not know what would come next. Would I attend USF and graduate college first in my family? Would I have the opportunity to remain in the United States?

What a joy it is to share that I did reach first place, attended & graduated USF (DEBT-FREE) and earned a full-time position with a wonderful company here in Bradenton, FL. More than ever, I feel like an independent man who has overcome his boundaries more and more by God's grace & provision.

So, as the last article ended on a cliffhanger, I feel it is time for the sequel. And I could not think of a better way to share it than through my very own TED talk.
