1MW and We Defy at The Baylander this week.

This Wednesday, I am having my book launch and a fundraiser at The Baylander , a decommissioned Navy ship on West 130th Street. While the primary beneficiary will be One More Wave , the same charity we hosted at the Intrepid Museum in 2023, I’ll introduce a new organization, We Defy Foundation . We Defy provides jujitsu scholarships for combat veterans. Why is this important? Research consistently found that three things address depression and anxiety: In-person talk therapy, regular exercise, and a broad community of social support. Jujitsu provides all three. Jujitsu saves. And jujitsu can save veterans and patriots who are dying in this endemic . Anyway, if you’d like to come along or share this with someone who can, please do so.
