August 13: Kim throws a lavish party to celebrate being accepted into the PSA body.
August 14th
06:13: The radio cracks to life. There is to be an important public service announcement in two minutes.
The president is escorted from his weekend mansion.
In an unidentified location, a man wakes up angrily and starts making calls.
06:15: The country is informed that a coup has taken place and martial law has been instituted, causing general panic.
06:45: A landline operator sends for Kim. His on-and-off girlfriend Patience is on the line for him. She implores him to come pick her and her family up before the phone is ripped off her hands by an irate customer.
The president’s motorcade races down an unidentified road.
The unidentified man finally talks to the coup leader, who is shown to be his son.
Kim is hurriedly packing a few clothes and money inside a backpack when his friends talk him out of that ‘suicide’ mission.
07:00: The landline operator sends a little boy with a fax from Patience. There is only one poetry verse, but it electrifies Kim and he decides to make the risky journey.
08:20: The president’s motorcade is passing through Nakuru when it encounters a patrol car, leading to a gunfight chase.
Kim’s PSV called Tinet Gaa races out of the stage as choppers and more cars join the president’s chase.
09:40: The Tinet Gaa is using back routes out of the city to avoid highway barricades when his car is stopped by a carless presidential escort. The president has abandoned his motorcade and requires a means to travel. His escorts commandeer the Tinet Gaa.
11:00: The motorcade of one transports the president to his rural home before proceeding onwards, but not without some drama and intrigue.
17:00: Kim finally makes his way to Patience, only to find that there is a manned blockade there as well. Vigilantes are allowing people in but not out, which traps them where a civil war tensions are high. Kim convinces Tanui to help him through, and he gets to Patience’s home and picks up her family.
18:00: The coup is turned back by government loyalist forces.
The president is picked up by a military chopper and transported back to state house.
The coup planners are apprehended.
19:00: With everything back to normal, Kim’s adventure turns out to be unnecessary, but Kim is glad to be back with Patience.
