1957 Starfire 98 Convertible Best Classic Oldsmobile of All Time
The MyDreamCar.online blog calls the 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 Convertible the Best Classic Oldsmobile of All Time. That's some high praise, but the Starfire 98 was way ahead of its time. Longer and lower than any other Oldsmobile ever produced, the Starfire 98 also came with the 371 ci big block motor and optional J-2 Tri-carb setup.
This week, Rock Solid Motorsports in Elkhart, Indiana is advertising a 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 Convertible for sale in their listings. This is one you have to see. (Click through to the ad page to see photos and a walk-around video.) They tell us it has less than 100 miles since a very correct frame off restoration that was completed in 2010. Rock Solid Motorsports says this beautiful example has been pampered and very well cared for since its restoration.
The concept of luxury combined with performance was no stranger to GM's Oldsmobile and Buick divisions. But in 1957, Oldsmobile really outdid itself in both categories with the Starfire 98. You can see from the photos that the red leather interior is in excellent condition. Loaded with many options from the factory, you will find a power top, power steering, power brakes, power windows, air conditioning, power antenna, power front seat, and a Wonderbar radio faceplate with a later model AM/FM stereo behind it.
