Dear Students,
You've no doubt read a lot about the value and virtues of continuous learning, and the idea sounds good, right? "But, is this really that important?" you?may ask. The Forbes article below highlights why and how everyone - candidates like you, and even our coaches and consultants - can benefit from continuing to challenge ourselves with new ideas, perspectives and information, to perform more effectively and think more innovatively in everything we do.
From the piece above, it's clear that continuous learning reflects a broader range of power skills, as well, as conveyed by Laci Loew, "People Scientist" and veteran of respected firms including Bersin by Deloitte (of Josh Bersin's power skills?fame), Owens-Corning, United Airlines and Motorola Solutions. These are exemplified by:
In addition, we can infer the writer's views, that the career success of ambitious international students (like you and your friends) will also be fostered by your "amalgamating a curiosity-fueled growth mindset with the world of data marked by social connection." In other words, by applying the above competencies to not only be personally "power-skilled," but also to be able to leverage these while partnering with a range of colleagues, to help an organization to generate incremental business results.
