19/05 - Friday Feels - It was time for a pivot

For this week’s Friday Feels I want to talk about my pivot away from workplace trauma as the primary focus of my business marketing. (Some of my regular followers might have noticed, others may have not).
I say “primary” focus as I still help people overcome workplace trauma, but that's just ONE of the things that I help my clients achieve through coaching, so I wanted to mix things up a bit and start talking about some of the other things I do as well.?
Plus, if I'm honest, talking about workplace trauma all the time in my marketing was starting to get me down a bit. A lot of people know that I've experienced my own workplace trauma, and that's a big part of my story, but it's not the only part of my story and it’s very much in my past now.
What I was finding is that every time I was sharing my experiences of workplace trauma, or talking about the problems with workplace trauma, I was kind of re-traumatising myself over and over again and that wasn’t very good for my mental health. It was bringing back up memories and stuff from my past that I’m very much over now and want to break free from.
So whilst I'm still very, very passionate about sharing the message that workplace trauma exists, and I know for a fact I will talk about it again in the future in my marketing as it is a very important topic, day to day I want to step away from talking solely about that topic for a while.
I will 100% still help people overcome workplace trauma in my coaching, if that’s something they’ve either knowingly or unknowingly experienced because it’s something I’m very, very passionate about, very knowledgeable about and very good at helping people overcome, BUT going forward I’ll be talking more about the other challenges I help my clients overcome as well, such as the impact of ANY trauma on how we show up in the workplace, including personal and childhood traumas, overthinking, self-sabotage, people-pleasing, perfectionism, procrastination, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, low-confidence, career fatigue and lots more!
Basically anything mindset related and all the hidden barriers and invisible traps that might just be getting in the way of your career success.
This isn’t new stuff I’m doing either. These are all challenges I’ve always helped my clients with in the past, but whereas for a while there my marketing became very niche, I am expanding it again so I can reach more people.
So if you’ve noticed a change in the stuff I talk about in my marketing, it’s purely a shift in marketing focus and not a change in my coaching programmes or how I actually serve my clients.
