1. Why are you doing this...?
People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it - Simon Sinek...
That may or may not be true, I don't buy my food from the store just because the owner has a purpose...
Knowing WHY is more important to you as the owner and your Team - when things get tough your WHY will pull you through...
2. What Value do you add...?
Strange question but one I guarantee you clients nad customers are thinking every time they work with you.
The New Year is a good time to refresh that Value Proposition and make sure you, the team, and the service offering are absolutely in line.
If you don't your competitors certainly will...
3. What makes you Unique...?
In marketing terms - it's your USP, Unique Sales Proposition. In reality, it's a lot more than that - it's the whole experience of dealing and working with you and the team.
What is it that you do that no one else can...?
What can you provide so that differentiation is not on price but scarcity of excellence...?
4. Check your Packaging...
Not just the physical packaging and labeling - although this is probably worth refreshing - but the bundling, presentation, and variety of products and services you offer.
People don't buy services they buy products and products need names - and if you have a range of named services - Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc. then it's a lot easier to present them in a cohesive and attractive way.
Remember - given a choice most people go for the middle - it's called the Goldilocks effect...

5. Get a Budget...
I am always amazed how so many people in business don't have a Budget - it's like Business 101, they teach this stuff to toddlers...
A good budget gives you a road map, a set of targets, and a means of checking progress as your financial year progresses - if you really want to get sophisticated then do a cash flow forecast too, your accountant will love you...

6. Get Your Website up to date...
Seems obvious but again - missed by so many...
Get someone to do a search for your business online from their own PC / Phone and see what happens...
Get them to do a mystery shop, send a message, make an inquiry, attempt a purchase and see what happens - One of my clients had a QR code on her site that took people through to a somewhat dodgy Massage Parlour in Amsterdam, she was an Accountant in Birmingham.
