18 Years of Silicon Alley Sports: Where Community, Impact, and Fun Converge

Today marks a significant milestone - not just my birthday, but the official launch of our 2025 Silicon Alley Sports events, kicking off with the Silicon Alley Golf & Pickleball Invitational. Why I'm Still Passionate After 18 Years

Three things have kept me deeply invested in Silicon Alley Sports for nearly two decades:

"Do Good, Play Well" isn't just our motto—it's our purpose. We enjoy sports (or networking) while channeling remaining funds to our Impact Partner. Last year's partner, Team Daya, built schools in underserved communities worldwide. Our putt-for-impact challenge was a highlight, and we're designing something even more exciting this year.

The people make it special. What began as eight strangers from the digital space golfing together has evolved organically into a community that fills entire courses. People return year after year for the connections as much as the activities. Our strict "don't be an a$$h0le policy" ensures an inclusive atmosphere for all skill levels. The common thread? Good people who bring positive energy, care about making an impact, and happen to work in tech.

Legacy matters. This event predates my children, who've grown up watching me and our incredible Advisory Board create something meaningful that unites people and makes a tangible difference. Seeing my 15-year-old son work the event last year—experiencing the community, connections, and purpose firsthand—embodied exactly the legacy I hope to build. Eighteen years in, and our innovation continues to flourish.
