18 Things While Being 18...
Scrolling down Instagram this morning and saw my daughter's last post. The caption read 18 things while being 18 (Out of curiosity of course I swiped - well always).
Reading down her lists, she made me feel proud not just as a father (we are always proud of our kids) but as someone who has a high self-expectation, is driven, and is way much older... As I go down the list, I saw that she raised that expectation bar higher and took it to her own standards.
I believe that in our professional careers (and in life) the enemy of good is not bad, it's better! It is up to us on how high we set those expectations, which ultimately became the real value we bring to the table - Any table!
The Enemy of Good is Not Bad, It's Better.
It is time to go above and beyond in whatever we do...
1). the moment you realize that you are in charge of every aspect of your life is the moment you will be completely free
2). embrace the loneliness & reinvent yourself in the process
3). take care of your body
4). a clean home is a happy home
5). read. read as much as you can. it's the best way to spend your free time
6). track your expenses
7). know your worth (don't settle for a S40k salary when you know you are work S70k)

8). analyze your day before bed. analyze what you did good and what you could have done better
9). keep a journal and jot literally everything down (quotes, goals, anything relevant)
10). align yourself with what you want, not manifesting (if you want to move out, actively go to open houses) you will be forcing yourself' to be in the environment you want to be, making it seem attainable and reachable. when you achieve your goal, it will no longer be a big deal and you can work on completing the next one.
11). listen to podcasts & ted talks instead of music
12). dressing good will make you feel good
13). to love yourself, is to simply be yourself
14). a healthy relationship with your significant other; will make your life easier
15). no zero days. force yourself to do at least 1 productive thing everyday
16). fail forward, learn from your mistakes. see rejection as redirection
17). finish your sentences; never let anyone interrupt you.
18. hold yourself to a high standard; always live up to it.
FYI, she's on LinkedIn Kyria Tamzil and she finally crossed over the 1 Million views on her TikTok. #proudpapa

3 年Smart girl, Kyria, meet my daughter Brianna…you both seem similar in character. Brianna, check Kyria’s list…it may sound a bit familiar. Michael, my kids listened to Ted talks and my influences while growing up too…they absolutely know who you are! ??
