Check out the Spotify podcast episode below, where I highlight the same benefits of launching a podcast for your business I covered in this article. ??

I launched what was then the Learn More Earn More Business Growth Podcast back in December 2020. In 2023, we rebranded the podcast to the Business Growth Show podcast to allow room to discuss a broader range of business topics and discussions in addition to marketing, like masterminds, mergers & acquisitions, mindset, and finance.

The 'Business Growth Show' podcast is a top 1% podcast. ??

The Business Growth Show Podcast

Launching my podcast was one of the best business marketing and branding decisions I've ever made.

Today, I'm sharing 18 reasons you should seriously consider launching a podcast for your business, along with 6 myths about why you think it's not possible that need to be debunked.

Top 18 Reasons You'd Be Crazy To Not Launch Your Own Business Podcast

The 18 benefits of launching and hosting your own podcast are, in fact, your liabilities if you and your business continue to stay on the sidelines and out of the game by not launching your own podcast show. Let's jump into it.

  1. ?? Build Your Brand: Podcasts can serve as a powerful tool for reinforcing and spreading your brand identity and message.
  2. ?? Share Thought Leadership: A podcast allows you to demonstrate and generously share your expertise and thought leadership across all the major podcast platforms.
  3. ?? Lead Generation: A business podcast is an extremely effective lead generator for your business. Invite prospective business leaders to be a guest on your podcast. Their benefit is free 15 to 30 minutes of consulting. Not only did you benefit by creating trust, gratitude, and reciprocity in the minds of your prospects, but you also provided insights and problem-solving advice in the eyes of the public, offering what I mentioned in item 4 below. ??
  4. ?? Build Authority: A podcast, when done properly, allows you to position your brand and yourself as an authority in your industry niche.
  5. ?? Increase Brand Awareness: Launching and hosting your own business podcast allows your brand to create more multi-channel omnipresent brand awareness. In addition to perhaps being on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube, you can create more brand awareness across platforms like Apple, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, and a host of additional podcast broadcasting platforms.
  6. ?? Networking: A podcast allows you to interview industry experts, influencers, or notable figures, which allows you to create meaningful connections and collaborations.
  7. ?? Content Repurposing: Your podcast content can be transformed into blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, and email campaigns, which allows you to maximize your content creation efforts.
  8. ?? TL;DR: [Too Long; Didn't Read?] A significant portion of the people in your target audience are not readers and never will be. A podcast allows you to provide your audience with content they can passively consume while they're doing something else, like jogging, mowing the lawn, or driving to work.
  9. ?? Improve SEO Rank: The transcripts from your podcast episodes can be beneficial for search engine optimization, improving your website's visibility on search engines.
  10. ?? Accessibility: Your business podcast can provide a more convenient vehicle for your audience to consume your content full of ideas and insights. And listening to a podcast is passive because they can listen to it anytime - whether during a commute to and from work, at the gym, or while mowing the lawn or doing the laundry.
  11. ?? Business Promotion: Your podcast can showcase your products or services, offering a unique platform to explain the benefits and features in a more conversational way that allows your audience to get to know you and your personality.
  12. ?? The Proximity Effect: The proximity effect is when people see or hear 'one' thing, they will assume another. If you're a business consultant and you decide to interview an investments expert, while your audience will 'see and hear' your interview, they'll make other assumptions like 'He must have a strong financial acumen', or 'She must really know what she's doing with her money.'
  13. ?? Grow Your Audience: Podcasts can help you reach a new and wider audience, especially with the increasing popularity of audio content.
  14. ?? More Affordable: Compared to video production, podcasting can often be a more cost-effective form of content production.
  15. ?? Generate Revenue: Once you have established your podcast, there are opportunities for monetization through sponsorships and paid advertisers.
  16. ?? Build Trust: Speaking directly to your audience through a podcast can help build trust and foster a more personal relationship with your customers and prospects.
  17. ?? Be More Relevant: Podcasting is a growing trend in content marketing. By participating, you're keeping your business current, relatable, and relevant. Launching a podcast allows you to start above and apart from 99% of your competitors.
  18. ?? Increase Shareability: Imagine you're a marketer like me, and you've recorded dozens of valuable podcast episodes. Now, imagine you're emailing a prospect for the first time. Instead of just sending a text email like the rest of your competitors, which allows little to no room for personality, warmth, rapport building, or thought leadership, you could send a few links to whichever episodes you feel would be most relevant to the prospect. The email and podcast links below are just to demonstrate this point. ??

Learn how to launch a podcast for your business in 60 days or less with just one hour of your personal time per month with Whatbox Digital.

6 Myths About Podcasting Debunked

?? 1. I don't have the technical knowledge to launch or host a podcast. I don't even know where to start.

?? Good news. With the right partner, you don't need a high level of technical acumen to launch and host your podcast. If you know how to have a Zoom meeting, you're good to go.

?? 2. I don't have the time to launch a podcast.

?? More good news. When planned strategically, you can host a podcast that airs weekly ?? in just 60 - 90 minutes a month ?? of your time.

?? 3. I don't have the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a studio or buy the equipment necessary to launch a podcast.

?? When you partner with an agency that can support you in your efforts, it's no longer necessary for you to own a high-dollar professional recording studio or all of the expensive equipment that's necessary. The agency takes care of all of that for you. With modern-day cloud technology and online communication, there's simply no need for you to go and spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

?? 4. I don't think I could deliver a podcast with the same level of quality I like to operate my business.

?? When partnering with an agency like Whatbox Digital, your podcast can sound just as professional as the other top podcasts around the globe.

?? 5. I don't listen to podcasts, so I assume that nobody else listens to them, either.

?? Incorrect. According to Demandsage.com, there are over 5 million podcasts with 464.7 million podcast listeners globally per a 2023 study.

?? 6. The podcast market is too saturated. I'm too late to the game.

?? This flawed mindset is often the result of cognitive bias. While there might be over 5 million podcasts, according to EarthWeb.com, there are over 800 million YouTube videos on the platform in 2023. But I can assure you that video content isn't going away anytime soon.

It's never been more affordable, accessible, and attainable to launch and host a podcast.

The reality is, it's never been more affordable, accessible, and attainable to launch and host a podcast that can add value to your business than it is in 2023.

And the 18 reasons covered in this article that a podcast can deliver massive value to your business' lead generation capabilities and revenue growth goals have hopefully penetrated your deepest concerns about launching a podcast for your business and your brand.
